November 14, 2013 – Activists, that may not necessarily identify as Anonymous, are planning for a Worldwide March Against Mainstream Media on Nov 16th.
The full text of their call to action is as follows:
“MARCH AGAINST MAINSTREAM MEDIA is more than just a protest. It is an attack against the credibility of the mainstream media in an attempt to steer its viewers away from its lies and towards alternative media sources. There are too many important things happening today that go ignored or spun by the MSM and unnoticed by the mass public. On November 16th, organized protest in the United States will be brought to the doorstep of all large mainstream media studio headquarters including: ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and FOX News. With enough support from truthseekers out at their local MSM studio locations on November 16, we will force the hand of those media outlets and they will be pushed to make a decision.
St. Louis Post-Dispatch: “An Anonymous Tree Falls in the Mainstream Media Forest”
November 15, 2013 – If there is a protest march against “mainstream media,” and the mainstream media choose not to report on it, does the protest make a sound?
That tree will fall in the forest, so to speak, at 1 p.m. Saturday when a group loosely associated with the Internet collective Anonymous plans a march to the KSDK (Channel 5) studios at 1010 Market Street. “Loosely” is the only way anyone is associated with Anonymous, which avoids things like formal leadership and organized structure.
According to a press release, the “March Against Mainstream Media” is “an attack against the credibility of the mainstream media in an attempt to steer its viewers away from its lies and towards alternative media sources such as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and other printed and online media.”
We were stunned to realize we’ve been relegated to the ranks of alternative media. This will surprise many of our more conservative readers.
KMPH Fox 26: “Anonymous Stages Mainstream Media Protest At KMPH”
November 17, 2013 – Members of the group “Anonymous” participated in a nationwide “March Against Mainstream Media” protest on Saturday, November 16, 2013, and visited KMPH-TV in Fresno along with several other Fresno-area media outlets.
Five group members staged their peaceful protest at the KMPH studios and met with KMPH-TV News Director Jim Turpin to discuss their concerns.
Among their chief concerns about media coverage, they told Mr. Turpin, are the lack of coverage of the ongoing radiation leaks at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, and a lack of coverage of any kind about genetically-modified food.
“Five percent of the world’s food supply is supposed to come from the Central Valley”, one protestor told Mr. Turpin. “And that’s not going to be distributed because people are against genetically-modified organisms. People don’t know what that’s about. People right here that work in that industry have no clue.”
