Hajj Stampede: Can THIS Darkest Scenario be Real?

Reports coming from AWD News, NileNet Online and al-Nahrain-net News Agency suggest that “probable kidnapping[s] of Iranian officials” by the Israeli Mossad took place during this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia which has resulted in over 2,000 deaths after a stampede was caused by a large presence of royal security personnel.

What follows below is the republication of possible key reports and excerpts that give a quite clear view of what may have occurred in Mecca. TNI has chosen to duplicate these publications in the event that they are pulled from the original websites in a later stage. For now, this is what we have.

I. NileNet Online: “European intelligence: The probable kidnapping of Iranian officials in Mina stampede by Mossad”

According to al-Nahrain-net News Agency, an unverified report of one of European intelligence agencies indicate that the Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency has abducted a number of Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) commanders, diplomats and prominent officials at last Thursday’s stampede near the holy city of Mecca. Al-Nahrain-net added that it also obtained information from European diplomatic sources in Brussels, suggesting that what deadly crush happened during the Stoning of the Devil ceremony (ramī aj-jamarāt) in Mecca was in fact a joint, pre-planned sabotage in order to kidnap a number of high-ranking IRGC commanders and Iranian diplomats. Al-Nahrain-net exposé on Mecca stampede which is based on preliminary intelligence reports indicate that Saudi and Israeli intelligence agencies have probably collaborated to abduct IRGC commanders, diplomats and staff working in Iran’s Supreme Leader’s office, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to this report the former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Ghazanfar Roknabadi, is believed to have been kidnapped in the deadly stampede. Mr. Roknabadi is considered an eminent member of Supreme Leader’s office staff and a figure who is well-informed regarding the secrets of arming Hizbullah by Tehran. Ali Asghar Fouladgar, the head of institute for IRGC strategic studies is also identified as missing. Hussein Danesh , Fo’ad Mashghali , Ammar Miransari and Seyyed Hasan Hasani are all members of IRGC or Iran’s Supreme Leader’s office for pilgrimage who are declared missing. In a time that EU diplomats reject altogether the authenticity of such a report, there is rising speculation that Russia leaked this information to western intelligence agencies. Al-Nahrain-net added that Iranian officials neither confirmed nor rejected the allegations regarding the abduction of Ghazanfar Roknabadi and other IRGC commanders during the hajj rituals as Israelis are so eager to discover the Iranian missile industry. While waiting for official confirmation, this report is considered just as a pending scenario, despite the fact that an unnamed European intelligence agency released the information. If this report turned to be accurate, it will signify a high level of intelligence coordination between Riyadh and Tel Aviv for it seems almost impossible to carry out the abduction of the Iranian targets by Mossad or western agencies without the Saudi blessing and acquiescence.

TNI: Yesterday FARS published a video with which they claim to prove that Qazanfar Roknabadi, allegedly kidnapped according to NileNet Online and al-Nahrain-net News Agency, was actually in Saudi Arabia for hajj. This in response to arab media outlets who earlier claimed that Roknabadi either did not come to Saudi Arabia at all or entered the country illegally. In such case, if he has been kidnapped or worse, it would indeed be convenient for the Saudi royals to suggest that he never was at the hajj in the first place, making his disappearance in Mina less mysterious and news worthy.

II. NileNet Online: “Saudi King Salman’s Orders the Seizure of all CCTVs in Mina”

Evidences suggest the stampede in Mina was the direct result of the road blockade for the easy commuting of the VIP caravan that belonged to Saudi monarchy family. Several photos and footages back the claim and made a global outrage among Muslims reflected in Media and online social networks. Muslims and Hajis request the formation of an international inquiry committee to investigate the bitter incident and that’s the reason for Saudi officials to seize all the evidences documented through CCTVs. King Salman ordered the seizure of the documents and keeping them safe from any probable inquiry committee.

TNI: If the kidnappings by the Mossad, as mentioned above, turn out to be true then it would make perfect sense that all video material of the CCTV cameras has been seized by the Saudi royal family, given that in such case without a doubt damning evidence would exist of collaboration between the Saudi royals and Tel Aviv.

III. FARS: “Mina Crush Could Be Result of Deliberate Crime”

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri said the Thursday stampede in Mina which killed over 2,000 Hajj pilgrims may have resulted from a plot, given the good relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv. “Given the usurper Zionist regime’s infiltration and influence on the al-Saud, there is a growing possibility that the crane crash incident at the Grand Mosque (in the holy city of Mecca) and the death of thousands of people in Mina were the result of deliberate crime,” Jazzayeri told FNA on Monday. The deputy chief of staff, who made the remarks during a visit to FNA today, further cautioned that making the Grand Mosque in Mecca unsafe and insecure is a major policy of the US and Israel. “Given the eyewitness accounts and the increasing possibility that the two painful and regrettable incidents at the Grand Mosque and Mina have been the result of intentional action, fact-finding groups from all Muslim states have the responsibility to decrypt this al-Saud’ crime. “A stampede during one of the last rituals of the Hajj season killed more than 2,000 people and left 2,000 wounded on Thursday.

“The large convoy of Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud, the King’s son and deputy crown prince, that was escorted by over 350 security forces, including 200 army men and 150 policemen, sped up the road to go through the pilgrims that were moving towards the site of the ‘Stoning the Devil’ ritual, causing panic among millions of pilgrims who were on the move from the opposite direction and caused the stampede,” several Arab papers, including the Arabic language al-Dyar newspaper, disclosed on Thursday evening.

Saeed Ohadi, the head of Iran’s Hajj organization, accused Saudi Arabia of safety errors and mismanagement. He said for “unknown reasons” the paths had been closed off near the scene of the symbolic stoning of the devil ritual where the accident later took place. “This caused this tragic incident,” he told the Iranian state television. Eyewitness accounts said that even after incident the Saudi security and military forces closed all paths leading to the scene and the bodies of pilgrims have piled up on each other.

Head of the Iranian pilgrims Qazai Askar in an interview with the state TV on Thursday evening complained that the Saudi officials do not allow other countries’ relief and rescue squads to help.

IV. FARS: “Iran’s Judiciary Chief Orders Prosecutor General to Launch Investigation into Hajj Tragedy Case”

… Iran’s prosecutor-general demanded his Muslim counterparts from around the world to meet to launch a criminal investigation into the Saudi rulers’ role in the tragic Mina incident which resulted in the death of hundreds of pilgrims, stressing that the stampede was the result of “purposeful crime”.

V. FARS: “Lost Iranians in Mina Incident either Killed or Taken Hostage by S. Arabia”

Abdel Bari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of Rai al-Youm newspaper, said the Iranian nationals who have gone missing during the Thursday incident near Mecca have either been killed or taken hostage by Saudi Arabia. “The issue which is more controversial than the death of Hajj pilgrims pertains to those Iranians who have gone missing including diplomatic, political and security figures as well as commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC),” Atwan wrote in Rai al-Youm daily on Monday. “The Iranian officials say that we understand the death and injury of the Hajj pilgrims but coming along with the issue of missing citizens is impossible,” Atwan said, and added, “They say that there could be a plot which entails only two possibilities: either they have been killed and Saudi Arabia doesn’t want to announce it to prevent increasing the number of the dead or it has taken them hostage. “Atwan underlined that the two possibilities grew even more probable after Riyadh didn’t issue visa for an Iranian delegation headed by Culture Minister Ali Jannati to probe the case under the pretext of Eid al-Adha holidays.

VI. MEMO: “4,700 died in Mina stampede”

The head of Iran’s Hajj organisation, Said Ohadi, expressed his belief that the number of victims in the Mina stampede incident in Saudi Arabia, which took place on the first day of Eid Al-Adha, reached at least 4,700. In an interview on Iranian TV yesterday, Ohadi said that 228 Iranian pilgrims died in Mina, adding that “the number of missing Iranians, with no information about their whereabouts, has reached 248, and we are afraid that the death toll could rise even more. “Ohadi claimed that at least 3,000 bodies are still inside 21 trucks, and they are waiting to be diagnosed and evacuated.

VII. AWD News: “5000 People Sacrificed by Saudi Criminals in Mina”

Unofficial news report the death toll in Mina surpasses 5000 people as the result of the neglect of the Saudi aid workers.Based on the report, Saudi officials are underreporting the real death toll.Saudi’s interior minister has ordered to prepare mass graves for burying the slain bodies anonymously.

VIII. AWD News: “Saudi forces used poisonous gas during the Mena stampede, says an Iranian expert”

Mr. Hasan Hanizadeh, an astute Middle-East expert in an interview with Iranian Nasim News Agency claimed that there is irrefutable evidence indicating the Saudi security forces indeed used poisonous gas deliberately during the annual Hajj rituals. “The Saudi forces are blameworthy for the utter mismanagement for deadly hajj crush and the untimely presence of Mohammad bin Salman, the Saudi Defense Minister and King’s son’s large entourage which was accompanying him with 300 security personnel and 200 vehicles resulted in fatal blocking two of three the corridors in Mena,” said Mr. Hanizadeh. By meticulous analyzing of the pictures and video clips, added Mr.Hanizadeh, and also with studying the autopsy reports and other pertinent facts one can ultimately assume that there was an unknown poisonous gas used at Thursday’s catastrophic stampede in the Holy Mecca. “If you look at the pictures, you can find that most of the victims had no fractures neither in their skull nor in vital bones and also the approximate age of the Mecca’s victims ran the gamut from 25 to 40. This is a well-established fact that Human’s body is at the peak of its strength during that ages. All these indicate that a toxic gas was inhaled by pilgrims,” added Mr.Hanizadeh.Mr. Hanizadeh explained the motives for such a disaster by pointing out to the simmering power struggle between the al-Sudairi and al-Shammari rival clans within the House of Saud. The Saudi security agents dispersed toxic chemicals among the pilgrims which led to the deadly incident. According to Mr. Hanizadeh all victims’ bodies’ must be examined in order to determine the real cause of their death. Mr. Hanizadeh further added that certain political currents within Saudi security apparatus seek to outmaneuver their adversaries and expel them from the executive system. This claim can be corroborated by studying the pernicious conflict between high-ranking Saudi princes, the children of the former and the incumbent monarch. Thus in order to spare the lives of tens of thousands of pilgrims, the Hajj management should be relegated to Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

IX. Real Iran: “Saudis shirk responsibility for missing former Iranian ambassador”

Iraqi news network Nahrain net claimed on Monday, citing unidentified European diplomats, that former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi was kidnapped by Israel’s Mossad agents in cooperation with the Saudi intelligence at the recent hajj stampede. Following this news, ‘Al Arabiya’ news channel published a report, claiming: ‘Former Iranian diplomat’s name is not among a list of registered pilgrims. Namely, he has not been entered into Saudi Arabia.’ In response to such claims, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham dismissed all fake news about the diplomat as incorrect and said all this propaganda served particular purposes. Shortly after these comments, ‘Al Arabiya’ Persian changed his previous claim, alleged that former Iranian ambassador has entered into Mecca with a fake name. Taken together, these claims indicate that Saudi government is trying to shirk its responsibility for protecting the lives of the pilgrims through the media such as Al Arabiya channel. But, Saudis must accept the responsibility for the recent accident and damage to Muslim pilgrims. According to available credible evidence, Roknabadi has entered into Saudi Arabia, having a regular passport. However, Iran’s state TV says he is among those missing after the accident.
