Corporate Hold Up in the Philippines: Fluoride Toothpaste and Poverty

Truth Sector

The purpose of this final part in the “Fluoride Toothpaste in the Philippines” report, of which previous parts can be found here and here, is to conclusively document once and for all how crappy, unhealthy fluoride toothpastes are being forced upon some of the poorest people in the world – the Filipinos.

I live in the Philippines myself, I love the country – which is exotic indeed – and the people – who are down to Earth and extremely hospitable yet very poor at the same time – and this is why I wish to put out there for everyone to know how exactly big pharma, multinationals and similar corporations have an iron grip on the society here. This can be proven in a very simple way: with fluoride toothpaste.

Before I present you the final nails in the coffin of fluoride toothpaste in the Philippines I want to show you how exactly the average Filipino is supposed to live – this is corporative enforced through low wages and crappy personal hygienic consumer products!

I Was Invited to Join Crime Fighters … No Kidding

Last week I was introduced to a local private organization in the Philippines that according to its own members should be described as a force multiplier when it comes to fighting crime and addressing corruption in the police forces and government. The organization apparently has the full authority to execute police tasks with some exceptions such as traffic violations.

The organization was, according to its current president, originally created about three years ago to track down and combat dirty cops.

Philippines: GlaxoSmithKline and the Media Force the Poor to Use Fluoride Toothpastes

Truth Sector – August 17, 214

Big pharma and multinationals really do control the health of some of the poorest people on Earth. And so it is the case in the Philippines where the multinational GlaxoSmithKline has a proven iron grip on the society’s health and the hygiene products that the people are allowed to buy and consume.

I have already written about this here and here but with the launch of my new site, Truth Sector, I want to recapture the attention to this worrying trend. Before my publications on fluoride in the Philippine toothpastes there were some brands available that would allow one to consume fluoride free toothpaste. This is now for many months a real thing of the past, at least in Cebu. Not only have the fluoride free toothpastes been removed from all general (regular) store shelves in Cebu, when one really wants to use fluoride free toothpaste for example after they read the Lancet publication on “Neurobehavioural Effects of Developmental Toxicity” which stated among other things…

Parodontax Investigation: Part 2

This report is a follow-up on the initial Parodontax article we posted on December 13 of last year in which we exposed how METRO and GlaxoSmithKline sell fluoride free toothpaste in the Philippines.

It is only in very exceptional cases that we publish responses and e-mails from readers regarding our reporting and articles but it seems to be so that there’s more going on here with this case of fluoride free toothpaste.

One of our readers recently sent us the following message (names and locations have been redacted for privacy and safety concerns):

  • “Hi,
In my research to find this product, I was able to read an entry about Parodontax. I have been searching for this product for my son, who is 4 years old and has occasional gum issues.
I live here in …, …. and I have looked for it in Mercury Drug and Watsons, and even asked around in Facebook and they all have one answer, it has been pulled out…
Does that store Metro still carry this toothpaste? Your help will be much appreciated.

We replied to our reader with this message:

  • “It appears to be revolving around an article we posted last year:
We found out that someone is trying very hard to fool the people, as more and more people search for healthy alternatives in life.
I cannot confirm this but it is very suspicious that indeed the product was removed from the stores merely days or weeks after we published our article. This by itself proves that we are right to be suspicious about this kind of practices. Now people are literally forced to consume unhealthy products. For more information why we know for sure that many products are extremely unhealthy please read this very important study which again proves the dangers:
Before giving you a tip on products to use please understand that we are not official health practitioners so our tips do not represent a professional advice in any way. But from a personal point of view I’d say that since the product is no longer available it may be a good choice to use the baby toothpaste that can be found in the Watson outlets. The one I now use, as an adult, contains no fluoride and is water-based. Try to buy SANSFLUO, for now it’s probably the safest alternative you’ll find out there. I’ll be going to the city soon to investigate this further, to find other alternatives. I’m also working on making my own toothpaste and if you like I’ll keep you informed on that too.
As far as I know it may even be more simple to provide you with a VERY HEALTHY alternative. Try to use pure coconut oil for brushing teeth. Buy some pure coconut oil, dip your toothbrush in the oil and brush the teeth. Be sure to rinse well because the coconut oil will fight all the bacteria in the mouth. This is a very safe and cheap solution. Of course your toothbrush will be oily afterwards but when you rinse it well it will not pose a health problem. If you really want to be sure, then just clean the toothbrush every now and then with hot water so the oil will come off easily.
The Parodontax you refer to has no fluoride and was meant to stop the bleeding of the gums but as you can see in our article the companies who sold that product tried very hard to hide that info from the public and their customers.
Sadly this proves that the Philippine people, and the rest of the world, are deliberately being poisoned by the big pharma companies, it’s an obvious attempt of abusing the people’s trust and good hearts, which the Philippine people certainly have. In general all Filipinos are good persons and big companies always abuse that for their own greed. It’s sad but true.
    Thank you for your message,
    Truth News International”

One thing we forgot to mention in our reply is that people should take care in selecting their health products like toothpastes. It’s not because there’s no fluoride in it that it therefore is automatically safe and healthy. Some of the fluoride free toothpastes contain strontium instead which is also very bad for your health. It’s like being given the choice between health hazards and bigger health hazards. Or in the case of neurological damage, being given the choice of becoming stupid or very stupid since fluoride and other chemicals in the toothpastes and foods are known to cause brain damage among other ‘side effects’. This study is yet more evidence that supports that assumption.

So it is a fact and it has been proven what we suspected all along, that there’s a massive corporate campaign going on of poisoning the people on purpose and not only in the Philippines but on a global scale.

The fact that all fluoride free Parodontax and other brands of toothpastes were/are being removed from the store shells nationwide, more than likely because of reports like ours, is suspicious to say the least. More so, since now people are mainly forced to consume fluoride. The alternatives are few, if any, when people purchase products like toothpaste. Only when people educate themselves or use natural solutions like coconut oil will they have no exposure to fluoride when brushing their teeth.

From a commercial point of view companies like GlaxoSmithKline make wrong decisions when not providing healthy products and along with the retailers they will all be losing sales and income when more and more people become aware of the truth regarding their hazardous, brain-damaging products. This may even be a positive consequence since crumbling corporate empires make space for small and local producers and merchants who can then grow and expand like they should.

Terror Trinity: The 15 “Countries with Greatest Risk of Terrorism” and the Saudi, US and Israeli Connections

By Jacobs K. for Truth News International and ReblDyne

countries, risk of terror

In one of Ria Novosti’s articles about the December 29-30 (2013) bombings in Volgograd, Russia, we find the above image about countries where there’s ‘a great risk of terrorism.’ The reason why we want to expand on this is because yesterday (December 30) Infowars published an article titled “Volgograd Bombings Follow Saudi Threat to Attack Russia” and Ria Novosti published the “US Slams Volgograd Terror Attacks, Offers Sochi Help” article. At first sight these two articles only have the Volgograd bombings in common but as we will document the above ‘terrorism map’ is also something that can be linked to the two articles.

In their article, Infowars points to the fact that the “twin blasts targeting a train station and a trolley bus in the city of Volgograd follow a threat by Saudi Arabia to attack Russia using Chechen terrorists if Moscow did not withdraw its support for President Assad in Syria.”

According to Infowars, the following warning was issued by Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan back in August:

  • “I can give you a guarantee to protect the Winter Olympics next year. The Chechen groups that threaten the security of the games are controlled by us.”

Bandar also said that he was speaking with the full backing of the US government, wrote Infowars.

The fact that Saudi Arabia is not mentioned on the ‘terror map’ but has repeatedly [1, 2, 3, 4] been proven to support, arm and fund terrorism in the Middle East is odd to say the least. One should expect to see Saudi Arabia listed on the map as well, given the fact that they’ve created a lot of enemies with their sponsoring of terror abroad. Since they are not on that map it can indeed confirm that Saudi Arabia controls a big chunk of the terrorist organizations around the world. But the same can be said about Israel and the US for that matter.

Then in their article, Ria Novosti writes about how the US government looks forward to playing a role in the security of the Winter Olympics. Actually an obvious hint that they seek more influence in Russia. Just like they did in the Philippines after typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda.

But it’s getting even more interesting, certainly for those who have not yet discovered the true nature of society. As you will see, every single country that is listed on the ‘terror map’ happens to be a place where the US government is (c)overtly operating, all too often through their CIA agents and fronts and in cooperation with the US-sponsored and blackmailing state of Israel who on their turn are not shy as well to sponsor and even orchestrate terrorism. Again, the same can be said about Saudi Arabia.

The following is a list of links to articles and facts that confirm and support the claims that the US government, Israel and Saudi Arabia are in fact the main reasons why the 15 countries on the ‘terror map’ are mentioned there in the first place, and why the war on terror is a big fat lie that was invented by the ultimate terror trinity.

Message to the Filipinos: Photo SCAM at Cebu Bus Crash (Graphic Content)

On Monday morning, (December 16, 2013) a bus fell sideways in Barangay Balhaan, Badian, Cebu (Philippines) killing the driver’s wife and daughter and wounding 32 other passengers according to the Sun Star newspaper’s website.

“Residents near the accident site rushed to help found the bodies of Marlyn Gerson, 41, and her daughter Geralyn, 5. The two held each other in a final embrace. It was Marlyn’s husband Erwin, 42, who was driving when the accident took place at 7:18 a.m., after the bus allegedly sped downhill in Sitio Bangko-Bangko,” writes Sun Star.

Based upon this information – as provided by Sun Star, Inquirer, GMA and other news outlets – it is therefore completely impossible that the following photos are related to this specific bus crash in Cebu:

cebu, bus crash, philippines, photo scam

The above photo is part of this collage that is being spread all over the internet and specifically on Facebook:

ceres, cebu, bus crash, philippines, photo scam

Along with this photo, which is also NOT related to the Cebu bus crash in any way:

ceres, cebu, bus crash, philippines, photo scam

How can we be so sure about the fact that these photos with body parts are not from the Cebu bus crash scene?

Well, that’s very simple to explain.

Quote from the Sun Star:

  • “Residents near the accident site rushed to help found the bodies of Marlyn Gerson, 41, and her daughter Geralyn, 5. The two held each other in a final embrace.”

People who’ve had their bodies separated like in the above photos CANNOT  embrace each other, surely they’d have something else on their minds than embracing someone if they even managed to stay out of a comatose state.

for now, we have found one of the sources of the photos, on Facebook. RIGHT HERE.

Whether this is the original source or not, is not clear. What IS clear though is the fact that this person can be fooled very easily, if not being the one who started to circulate the photo scam.

Why is it so important to address this issue?

Because governments, institutions and corporations already lie enough about many other things without people knowing it, which doesn’t mean that the previous mentioned entities are in any way responsible for the photo scam. It’s easily possible that it’s just a sick joke.

Now, on the same morning there was another bus accident, not in Cebu, but in Manila at around 5:30 a.m.:

  • “18 killed, 16 hurt in bus’ deadly fall from Skyway”
  • “Bus falls off Skyway, scores dead”

In response to the accidents, articles like this one start to appear:

  • “Gov’t urged to maximize P12-B tax for road safety”

Quote from the article:

  • “Senator Ralph Recto on Tuesday called for the ‘wise utilization’ of the multi-billion peso road users’ tax for road safety after 18 people were killed in a bus accident in Taguig City. Recto estimated that of the P11.7 billion collected last year from motor vehicle registration fees, P800 million is the minimum amount available annually for road safety programs.”
  • “Actually, all collections from road user’s tax must be spent for road safety. That’s the end objective. But there’s a provision in the law specifically setting aside 7.5 percent of what’s collected for road safety,” said Recto, the Senate President Pro-Tempore. According to the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 8794, 7.5 percent of the total collections shall be placed in a “Special Road Safety Fund” and earmarked for roadway improvements and repairs designed to reduce traffic problems and accidents.”
  • “Road users’ tax collections, which are expected to hit more than P12 billion this year, are treated as ‘off-budget’ items. This means the details of their spending are not included in the yearly national budget.”
  • “Recto called for the “maximization” of the road users’ tax collections after deadly road accidents hit the country recently.”
  • “The Aquino administration has always prioritized the safety of the riding public.”

Probably as a comment to the very last quote, understandable comments like this one are being posted online:

Ramil: “Why is it that the speed limit in Commonwealth Avenue was reduced to 60 km/hr. in spite of the fact that scores if not hundreds or even thousands already died in Death Avenue? Well. simply because Lourdes “Chit” Estella Simbulan happens to be an award-winning journalist, journalism professor, and press freedom advocate. What if she’s just one of the ordinary Filipinos? Ordinary employee, ordinary student or even scavenger maybe, what would happen to US, ordinary people? Bottom line, Government can act with power and might if it involves someone powerful, popular and if we band together like what we did in PDAF. Otherwise we’ll ended up as statistics PERIOD”

Does Recto’s quote “maximization of the road users’ tax collections” mean raising taxes? Lets hope not, for it’s already hard enough as it is now for the Filipinos to make ends meet. More so after what happened with typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan [1, 2, 3, 4].

How METRO and GlaxoSmithKline Sell Fluoride Free Toothpaste in the Philippines

UPDATE: Parodontax Investigation: Part 2

It’s Friday the 13th, 2013, just another normal day. Or is it?

They say that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day, well, there might be something truthful about that. But not as one would expect.

This afternoon I was walking in one of METRO’s grocery stores in Mactan Cebu, Philippines, just to buy some drinks, some coffee and snacks. I didn’t plan to buy anything else but as I passed by the aisle with personal hygiene products, something inside me told me to walk through the aisle and grab a new tube of toothpaste. Not that I needed one because I still had some Colgate leftover at home. The odd thing was, I was looking at all the toothpastes when suddenly I found myself in a rather silly situation.

I’m writing for Truth News International and a few other websites, so I know that my Colgate toothpaste is not the most healthy choice. It’s probably the reason why I decided to make a turn into that aisle. After all, it’s a known fact that fluoride isn’t healthy, yet I never changed my brand of toothpaste so in a way I haven’t been that honest about this to myself.

I’m taking a look at the brands on the shelve and I start reading the ingredients in the toothpastes, to find out how many actually have fluoride in them. As you can imagine, most of them do. I’m comparing them one by one. One package, reads “extra fluoride power,” the next one, Parodontax, reads “daily fluoride free toothpaste.” I show both toothpastes to the person who’s with me in the store and I ask her if she notices the same like I do. I mean, one says extra fluoride power while the other one states the exact opposite. So I ask her: “if fluoride is so good and healthy, why is this being advertised as one without fluoride?”

We move on and head toward the counter, pay the bill and go home.

Once arrived at home, we notice that there’s something wrong with the package of this toothpaste that we just bought. It really was like a scene straight out of the movie 1984, you know, the Orwell kind of thing.

On the package there were stickers, strips, as I found out, they were hiding something on the package. I noticed those strips earlier when I was still in the store but I thought those were part of some kind of electronic article surveillance system, like acousto-magnetic tags. Well, it turns out that they were not.

The strips were hiding a text on the package of the toothpaste:

“Parodontax is specially formulated for people who spit blood when they brush. Spitting blood when you brush your teeth can be one of the first signs of gum problems, a major cause of tooth loss. That is why Parodontax has a unique formulation for people who spit blood when they brush. Parodontax helps stop bleeding gums. This toothpaste does not contain fluoride. Please consult your dentist in the event of continuous use.”

Apparently someone doesn’t want that info to be visible when the product is still on the shelve in the store, next to other toothpastes that say “extra fluoride power.” Either METRO or GlaxoSmithKline covers the “helps stop bleeding gum” and “this toothpaste does not contain fluoride” notifications, for a yet unknown reason.

My guess is that they cover this because the other brands might experience a drop in their sales. Or they cover it because it’s too obvious that FLUORIDE IS NOT GOOD for your teeth.

Parodontax is the only available brand here without fluoride.

This is how I finally changed my toothpaste, to a non fluoride one. On Friday the 13th.
